More about Stacy
(Imagine Kenny Roger's 'Through The Years' playing in the background) In the beginning, Beulah Mae... & Bob...
brought into the world one beautiful, bouncing, baby, radio personality... (Me at 8 months...talk about a-dor-a-ble, right!?) My dad told the nurse I looked like and Eskimo. She asked him if he'd ever looked in the mirror! LOL It didn't take long for the 'radio' in me to come out! (Around 7 or 8-years-old...1978 or '79)
Nothin' special about this one, except I'm so freakin' cute! (2nd Grade...) Then....there were those AWKWARD years...
(FRESHMAN YEAR IN HIGH SCHOOL) 1987
(JUNIOR YEAR IN HIGH SCHOOL) 1989 HEY! At least I haven't had the SAME hairstyle my whole life!
After I grew up, I thought I'd test the waters and see if blondes really do have more fun...
...well, they definately get more attention.
Now...
I started my career in '90 doing a weekend shift as a senior in high school in Vidalia Louisiana, KFNV.
After graduation, I attended the University of Louisiana at Monroe and pursued a Radio, TV and Film degree. Ah….good times, good times. Unfortunately, my college radio station was an Alternative Rock format and I was coming off of 80’s hair bands. After getting my toes wet at the college station and the Public station KEDM, I ventured out into the real world…Commercial Radio at KJLO. There, I got reacquainted with the country music I’d grown up with.
My radio career took me from Monroe, Louisiana to Waco, Texas then San Antonio, Brenham and Longview, Texas, back to Louisiana to Shreveport then back where my journey really began to Monroe, Louisiana.
In August of ’04 I decided that I needed a change of scenery and packed up the U-Haul and the yard dogs (*see yard dog photo below) and came to South West Florida. I needed a job! After all, I had two small dogs at home depending on me.
I’d applied for the morning show at WCKT – Cat Country, but the boss pretty much ignored me. So, I did what anybody would do and made a sandwich board asking motorists to call the station and ask that I be hired and stood at busy intersections at drive time. Boy did they call and here I am.
