Mark your calendars! The Sixth Annual McFlat’s Invitational Snook & Redfish Challenge is set to kick-off this September 3rd & 4th, 2010. This event has raised vital funding for our local Ronald McDonald House, which is dedicated to giving children and their families a safe & supportive place to grow and love. All events are being held inside at the Resort at Marina Village.
Some of the activities that you can look forward to are:
~ Friday night Captain’s Meeting – 5:30 pm (sponsored by Bubba’s Roadhouse & Saloon)
~ Friday night Poker Tournament – immediately following the Captain’s meeting
~ Saturday morning – 7:30 am shotgun start
~ Saturday morning Fishing with Ronald McDonald for the Kids
~ Saturday evening Auction & Awards Dinner – 6:00 pm (sponsored by Outback Steakhouse)

Outer bands of the powerful Loop Current moved north to within 31 miles of the destroyed wellhead, spewing thousands of barrels a day. If the current reaches the spill, it could drag the slick south to the Florida Keys within days, and push it north to Broward and Palm Beach counties in a week to two weeks, marine scientists said.
